When Curran Kelleher started the company Datavis Tech in 2016, it was with the goal of creating a platform for data visualization work with features such as real-time collaboration and embedding. The original Datavis.tech app was the first version of this platform. It was developed in late 2016 and early 2017, and released publicly.
The platform basically did the job, but the user interface design was just not that good. It gained around 100 users and stagnated. This is what it looked like.
The application was very technically advanced on the inside, but lacked good design on the outside. It included really cool features like real-time collaboration, adding/removing collaborators, and embedding of visualizations.
The learnings from making the original datavis.tech have made their way into the VizHub.
Many thanks to Oleksandr Poplavskyi for his great work on the original Datavis.tech!
